Did you know that the collagen found in bone broth is joint protecting? In fact, recent studies indicate collagen may go directly to your joints that are damaged for healing.
This is awesome, except when I would rather have a sweet cookie instead of savory mug of bone broth. I found the solution in bone broth or collagen powder. I use it in almost all my baking, smoothies, and shakes now to sneak a little extra of this good stuff into my kids diets.
In fact, I wrote a whole recipe book on using bone broth in everyday recipes. You can get it as a free bonus when you purchase our book coming out in April. Visit www.healoptimizethrivebook.com for more info!
Without further ado, here’s the super simple (my 9 year old can make them on her own) recipe for joint protecting cookies:
1 cup Almond Butter, natural with no added sugar or salt
1/2 cup Golden Monk fruit Sweetener
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp Sea Salt
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 cup Bone Broth or Collagen Protein Powder
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine the almond butter and sweetener in the bowl of a mixer and beat until smooth.
Add egg and mix until smooth. Then, add remaining ingredients and mix until well combined.
Roll dough into small balls and using a fork flatten on the cookie sheet (these will not spread very much).
Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly browned. Cool on the baking sheet for at least 2 minutes before moving to a cooling rack or serving.
